I can t even find any error logs inside the VM or in the Host for Virtualbox itself.ĭoes anyone have any pointers what I can do now? I have spent several hours searching forums etc. The fact that this started to happen with a VDI file that I configured a couple of years ago (Windows 7), I am thinking that maybe some recent updte to Virtualbox has introduced an instability of incompatibility. I relaunch it and carry on for couple of minutes, then it happens again. It seems to be a problem irrespective of which VM I am using. Additionally the last 7 or so versions of Tor Browser have worked with no problems whatsoever with same security. Ideas Security software in use: Microsoft Security Essentials plus Malwarebytes Pro Edition. Have had no issues running the last 7 or so versions. Each level disables more website features than the previous one in order to. More often than receiving the 'tab crshed' error, the whole Tor (or firefox) browser simply disappears just a coule of minutes after being launched. Tried upgrading then a new install with no joy. The browser comes with three levels of security: standard, safer and safest. Today I reinstalled Virtualbox and the additions pack and also installed a Manjaro Linux VM. Often now I get "Gah, your tab has crashed" type messages. Recently when I run Tor browser or Firefox in a long-established Windows VM, they crash within minutes. I have been using virtualbox without incident for over two years. ![]() The control ports which need to be tunneled through the firewall are 91. My host is a fully updated Manjaro Linux (64 bit) running on a fast Dell laptop. 1 That is a local problem which is probably related to your firewall. The Tor Browser 32-bit version was initially intended for 32-bit Windows.
